Role Description
The Food and Beverage Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at Macdonald Linden Hall Golf and Spa Hotel in Seaton Burn. This role oversees daily food and beverage operations across restaurants, bars, lounges, function rooms, and events, ensuring consistent service standards and a high-quality guest experience. Responsibilities include supervising front-of-house teams, coordinating service schedules, supporting training and mentoring of colleagues, and monitoring presentation and cleanliness in all service areas. The supervisor will manage opening and closing procedures, support stock and inventory control, handle guest queries and feedback in a professional manner, and work closely with kitchen, events, and reception teams to deliver seamless hospitality. The role also involves upholding health and safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations while helping to drive revenue through upselling and efficient service.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, task delegation, and coaching within a food and beverage environment.
- Candidates should possess a solid understanding of service standards and quality control to maintain a consistent, high-level guest experience.
- Candidates should possess practical food service skills, including table service, bar service, and knowledge of menu items and beverage offerings.
- Candidates should possess excellent customer service and communication skills to interact confidently with guests and colleagues.
- Previous experience in hotel, restaurant, or event-based food and beverage operations is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety, and licensing regulations is preferred; relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic numeracy and IT skills for handling billing, reservations, and reporting; experience with POS systems is desirable.
