Macdonald & Company are partnering with a well-established property owner and investor to recruit a Senior Commercial Property / Asset Manager, into a key role within its property team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced (ideally) chartered surveyor to take responsibility for a substantial and diverse commercial property portfolio, combining strategic asset management, operational property management and team leadership.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced property team, you will be responsible for driving portfolio performance, delivering asset management initiatives and ensuring effective management of landlord and tenant matters across a varied commercial property portfolio. The successful candidate will play an important role in identifying opportunities to enhance value, improve income performance and support the delivery of wider business objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of commercial property assets
  • Leading lease events including rent reviews, renewals, lease restructures and other landlord and tenant matters
  • Delivering asset management initiatives to enhance portfolio performance
  • Supporting acquisition, disposal, development and investment projects where required
  • Monitoring portfolio income, occupancy levels and operational performance
  • Managing tenant relationships and resolving complex property matters
  • Working closely with professional advisers and external consultants
  • Supporting budget management, forecasting and business planning activities
  • Leading and mentoring junior members of the property team
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, governance and regulatory requirements

About You

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • MRICS qualification (preferable)
  • Significant post-qualification experience within commercial property and asset management
  • Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant matters and commercial property practice
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
  • Previous experience managing or mentoring professional colleagues
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
