I am working alongside a leading global insurance services provider that is seeking an experienced Surveyor / Loss Adjuster to join its highly regarded Structural Defects team, covering the M5 corridor. This is a home-based, field-focused role offering a technically varied and engaging workload, well suited to professionals with experience in surveying, loss adjusting, or structural defects who enjoy managing complex latent defect and building guarantee claims.
The Role
- Managing a portfolio of structural and latent defect claims across commercial, residential, and multi-unit properties on a cradle-to-grave basis, including:
- Attending site inspections and assessing damage
- Diagnosing causation of defects and preparing preliminary reports
- Reviewing technical documentation and providing expert advice to insurers and policyholders
- Appointing and liaising with external engineers to develop scopes of repair
- Reviewing scopes for technical accuracy and completeness
- Overseeing reinstatement works through to completion
- Producing final reports and recommendations
Candidate Profile
- A full UK driving license
- Degree-level education with chartered status (e.g. MCIOB, MRICS, MICE)
- Ideally, an insurance qualification
- Strong technical knowledge of structural defects, including relevant legislation such as CDM and Party Wall regulations
- Proven experience handling latent defects or building guarantee claims
- The ability to diagnose defects and specify appropriate remedial solutions across varied property types
