Joining a small but highly effective legal team, the Senior Legal Counsel will support core real estate activity while also contributing across broader business areas. If you thrive in a role where legal is integral to strategy, not an afterthought, this is a compelling next step.
The RoleThis is a broad and business-facing position, offering variety, autonomy, and collaboration across the company. You’ll be involved in:
- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of real estate agreements
- Conducting property due diligence and producing detailed reports on title and transactional documents
- Providing real estate support to corporate transactions and broader commercial activity
- Supporting the Utilities/EV infrastructure team on property-related legal matters
- Collaborating across departments to gather instructions and deliver actionable legal input
- Mentoring more junior team members on specific tasks and areas
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Land Registry processes, VAT, and SDLT requirements
- Building strong relationships with, and managing, external legal counsel and the external Data Protection Officer as needed
You’ll be:
- A qualified solicitor with 4–6 years’ PQE (or more), with solid experience in real estate law
- Confident drafting and negotiating complex property documents
- Comfortable working independently and handling a varied legal workload
- Curious, commercially aware, and keen to be involved in shaping wider business strategy
- Ideally experienced in-house (though this isn’t essential)
- An excellent communicator who enjoys mentoring others and working cross-functionally
