Working remotely and with autonomy, you'll be using your skills and background as a building surveyor to visit the various care homes (both new build and older) between the Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham triangle, and check the condition of the properties, check the compliance across the board and take ownership of any defects or project work that need attending to.

Building a relationship with each of the on-site facilities and the Home Manager that are using the properties day-to-day is paramount, making sure you're on top of both planned maintenance and anything reactive that can't be handled on-site so that they know they can turn to you for anything and everything property related.

Anything that needs some project work will be down to you to organise; setting the scope of works, design specification and tendering to contractors while ensuring the quality of their work. You'll also be responsible for the compliance of the buildings, ensuring all the tests and certificates are carried out and held as appropriate.

You’ll ideally already have experience working remotely and autonomously in the care home sector (or similar), and being MRICS chartered would be ideal (though not a dealbreaker). And as long as you're happy to cover the area between Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham you can live anywhere.
