A leading real estate investment and development business is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Manager to support a high-performing UK property portfolio. This is a broad and commercially focused role offering exposure across technical asset management, refurbishment and capital projects, building compliance and operational improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, asset management and external delivery partners to help protect and enhance asset performance across a fast-moving and evolving portfolio. The business operates across multiple European markets and offers a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment with genuine autonomy and progression opportunities.

The Technical Manager will play a key role in overseeing technical matters across occupied and operational assets. This position combines technical oversight, project delivery and stakeholder management, making it well suited to someone who enjoys balancing strategic input with hands-on execution.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing technical guidance across a varied commercial property portfolio.
  • Advising on building condition, compliance, lifecycle planning and asset improvement opportunities.
  • Managing landlord technical matters, lease obligations and dilapidations strategies.
  • Supporting occupier alterations, fit-outs and technical approvals.
  • Undertaking inspections and monitoring quality standards across assets.
  • Assisting with planned preventative maintenance and investment planning.
  • Managing refurbishment and improvement projects from inception through to completion.
  • Overseeing budgets, procurement and programme delivery.
  • Coordinating consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Supporting tender processes and contractor appointments.
  • Supporting CapEx reporting, accruals and budget tracking.
  • Reviewing contracts and helping mitigate commercial and operational risk.
  • Maintaining supplier records and project documentation.
  • Supporting process improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
  • Building strong relationships with occupiers, consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Supporting wider sustainability and ESG initiatives.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple business functions.

The successful applicant is likely to demonstrate:

  • Strong experience within technical property management, building surveying, construction or project delivery.
  • Experience across industrial, commercial, office, manufacturing or mixed-use property assets.
  • The ability to manage both day-to-day technical matters and larger capital projects.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle planning, contract administration and landlord responsibilities.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach with strong organisational capability.
  • Degree qualification within Building Surveying, Construction, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as MRICS are advantageous but not essential.
