Estate Director

Estate Director

Full-Time On-site
M

A newly created senior property role within an established charity with a substantial residential property portfolio. Working closely with the Deputy CEO and Board, the Director of Estates will play an important role in shaping the future direction of the charity's property portfolio.

The role goes beyond the day-to-day management of the existing estate, with a focus on how the portfolio can be managed, optimised and developed over the longer term. The charity is looking at how it can make best use of its existing residential assets, including opportunities to release capital through disposals and reinvest this into larger-scale residential development.

The Director of Estates will bring the property expertise needed to help shape this strategy, working alongside the Deputy CEO and Board before taking responsibility for progressing agreed plans. This creates a broad remit across estate strategy, residential asset management, disposals and development, with the opportunity to influence a significant property portfolio and its future direction.

Working alongside the Deputy CEO and senior leadership team, you will contribute to the development of the charity's property strategy and lead its implementation across the estate. This will include:

  • Reviewing the existing residential portfolio and developing a clear asset and disposal strategy.
  • Identifying opportunities to release capital from the existing estate where this supports the wider strategy.
  • Advising the Board on residential investment, development and portfolio decisions.
  • Identifying and assessing larger-scale residential development opportunities.
  • Leading projects from initial feasibility, appraisal and planning through to delivery.
  • Overseeing external development partners, consultants and professional advisers.
  • Ensuring the existing estate is actively managed while the development pipeline evolves.
  • Providing the property expertise and commercial insight needed to support Board-level decision making.

About You

You will be an experienced residential property professional with a background in development, investment, asset management or estates.

You will have a strong understanding of residential property and be comfortable looking at a portfolio from both a strategic and commercial perspective.

You will understand how to assess opportunities, develop investment cases, consider disposals and reinvestment, and take development projects forward.

The role will suit someone who enjoys working across the full property lifecycle and is comfortable operating at Board level while remaining close to the detail.

You will be joining at a point where there is scope to influence how the estate develops over the coming years, working in partnership with the Deputy CEO rather than operating in isolation.
