A growing UK residential developer is seeking a Development Manager to support its expanding development pipeline. The business has ambitious growth plans and a strong track record of delivering high-quality, sustainable homes and neighbourhoods. You will support the origination, appraisal and progression of residential development opportunities from early feasibility through planning and pre-construction. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external consultants to ensure projects are viable, deliverable and aligned with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Appraise and support due diligence of new residential development opportunities
  • Build and interrogate development appraisals and financial models
  • Coordinate planning, technical, legal and commercial due diligence
  • Support front-end development through RIBA Stages 1–4
  • Appoint and manage professional consultant teams
  • Assist with land negotiations, bids and public-sector procurement
  • Prepare reports and materials for senior management and board approval

About You

  • Experience in residential development, advisory or housebuilding
  • Understanding of public procurement and bidding processes
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Degree-qualified and/or professionally qualified (e.g. MRICS or working towards)
  • Advanced Excel and strong report-writing skills
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and delivery focused

Salary and package will depend on experience. Likely c£55-70,000 + Car Allowance and bonus. Possible some further flex on this.
