Do you want to work in a role where you will be able to make a difference in environments that serve some of the most specialised and valued services in the community. I am working with a high-performing client-side property team responsible for a varied and meaningful estate across the South of England.
You’ll be at the heart of ensuring these properties remain safe, compliant, and future-ready — whether through proactive maintenance, smart investment planning, or hands-on project delivery. With a mix of challenge, variety, and purpose, this role offers a unique platform for a surveyor who wants their work to mean more.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake condition surveys and property inspections, identifying defects and proposing appropriate remedial actions.
- Lead and deliver building projects, from small-scale refurbishments to complex capital works, working closely with contractors and consultants.
- Prepare and issue briefs, tender documentation, and contractor instructions.
- Oversee planned maintenance schedules and support site teams with reactive works.
- Manage capital budgets and contribute to long-term asset management planning.
- Ensure statutory compliance across the portfolio, including planning and listed building consent where applicable.
- Collaborate with operations, health & safety, and wider stakeholder groups to deliver safe, functional, and well-maintained environments.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced property or building surveyor, ideally with a client-side or estates background.
- Sound knowledge of construction, building maintenance, and property legislation.
- Able to manage multiple sites and priorities across a wide geographical area.
- Professionally qualified or working towards membership of:
- Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
- Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)
- Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE)
- Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM)
- Experienced working with JCT contracts.
- Proven ability to manage external consultants and contractors.
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capability.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the South of England, with occasional overnight stays.
Why Join?
- Be part of a high-performing, supportive property team in a reputable organisation.
- Enjoy a varied, autonomous role with tangible impact on service delivery.
- Competitive package with professional development support.
