Job Summary

A leading fully integrated real estate investment, development, and asset management company has an exciting opportunity for a Property and Service Charge Accountant to provide financial accountancy support across a diverse and growing property portfolio.

This business has formulated and implemented a highly successful acquisitive business strategy that has enabled them to build a diverse and high-performing property portfolio containing a variety of asset classes.

As the Property and Service Charge Accountant, you’ll have a unique opportunity to join a well-organized team as well as assist with the implementation of new Service Charge processes and procedures:

  1. Manage and undertake the production of Property and Service Charge Accounts
  2. Calculate Service Charges and apportionments
  3. Process periodic service charge demands with ad hoc recharges to tenants
  4. Prepare variance reports for the Asset Management team
  5. Prepare Service Charge Reconciliations
  6. Undertake core estate accounting tasks
  7. Produce budget vs expenditure reports
  8. Liaise and assist property and facilities managers with finance-based matters
  9. Coordinate and address audit queries in relation to service charge and property accounts
  10. Assist with and contribute to service charge process improvements
  11. Close down service charge periods

The successful candidate will have practical experience as a Property and/or Service Charge Accountant, preferably working across a commercial property portfolio, although this is not essential.

In addition, you will have either a degree in Accounting & Finance or AAT level 2 and above, preferably with knowledge of property management systems such as Qube, Yardi, or Tramps.

Furthermore, you will have exemplary written and verbal communication skills, a “can do” attitude, natural enthusiasm, and a calm and friendly demeanor.
