A rapidly growing retail group is looking for a Cost Manager to join them in-house. Someone who’s ready to wrangle budgets, tame spreadsheets and keep construction projects marching to plan. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring new stores, refurbishments and relocations are delivered on time, on budget and preferably with minimal drama!
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Crunch numbers at the concept stage and weigh-in on early designs and options
- Build monthly reports that tell the story behind the figures
- Navigate contracts and procurement
- Help keep projects legally watertight and regulation-compliant
- Work with internal stakeholders and external consultants (yes, occasionally herding cats)
What You’ll Need
- A degree in Quantity Surveying (or similar)
- 3–5 years’ experience in cost management, ideally with retail or construction projects over £1 million but this isn’t a dealbreaker
- Comfortable with the RIBA work stages and building regulations
- Membership with RICS? Gold star. Working towards it? Still great. There’s Full APC support for those who aren’t yet chartered
- Access to health and fitness programmes (because wellness isn’t just for weekends)
- Monthly recognition schemes and performance-based bonuses
- Invitations to team events that go beyond terrible coffee and awkward icebreakers
