Laboratory related activities:
- Support the day-to-day operation of the QA Laboratory, providing guidance and cover during absences of QA Technicians.
- Lead Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities, including planning, execution, analysis, and reporting to ensure data integrity.
- Support and maintain the internal calibration programme, testing and verifying balances, scales, ovens and other lab equipment to meet quality and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and improve good laboratory practices and housekeeping standards, including waste management, 5S principles, and audit readiness.
- Ensure laboratory activities comply with the Company Quality Management System, SOPs, and data integrity, updating electronic quality databases in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assess raw materials approaching end of shelf life, conduct re-validation testing and recommend actions to Procurement and Supply Chain.
Process improvement related activities:
- Monitor and trend batch production and raw material QA data, identify adverse trends, initiate investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead investigations into failed batches and non-conforming results, applying root cause analysis methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, CAPA, and collaborate with Production, Technical and Procurement teams.
- Support and implement a culture of right-first-time and quality excellence in operations, in coordination with Production and Technical teams.
- Participate in internal audits, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
General requirements:
- Work in full compliance with Company Health & Safety policies, complete required training and promote safe working practices within the laboratory.
- Adhere to all company rules, regulations, and ethical standards, acting as a role model for quality-driven behaviour.
- Role involves working in laboratory and production environments and wearing PPE.
Qualifications:
- Previous practical laboratory experience.
- A-level minimum in Chemistry desirable.
- IT literate and competent with Microsoft Office or similar programs.
- Practical approach to work with ability to set priorities and solve problems.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to record, manipulate and analyse data, generating detailed reports.
