Our Estates Department are excited to announce that we are looking for a team member to join as a Site Assistant. We are seeking a passionate and experienced candidate to join our dedicated team. Join us in shaping the future of our students and make a lasting impact with Macclesfield College!
The Role: This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and professional Estates team as a Site Assistant with responsibility as a key holder.
Main duties include:
- Carrying out planned maintenance and repair work on College grounds and buildings.
- To be responsible for ensuring that site management, safety and security is maintained at all times.
- Shift work and some evening work is required, alongside occasional weekends.
With a flexible can-do approach to your work, you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, be an excellent team player as well as have the ability to work under pressure using your own initiative when responding to the Estate department's changing work demands. You will be able to demonstrate a good level of health and safety awareness and the ability to apply safe working practices. Ideally, you will have a First Aid at Work certificate, or be willing to undertake this qualification. Experience of basic maintenance and general repair work along with manual handling techniques is essential. Industry experience in a relevant trade would be advantageous.
Shifts currently are as follows:
- Early Shift: Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs 06:00 - 14:00 (30 min break), Friday 07:00 - 14:30 (30 min break)
- Late Shift: Monday 10:30 - 18:30 (30 min break), Tuesday & Wednesday 13:30 - 21:30 (30 min break), Thursday (normal) 10:30 - 18:30 (30 min break), Thursday (events) 12:00 - 20:00 (30 min break), Friday 09:30 - 17:00 (30 min break)
