Our Engineering Department are excited to announce that we are looking for a team member to join as a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. The Role

We are looking for a skilled candidate with practical experience in operating lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining equipment. Macclesfield College has an innovative vision in delivering high quality education to a wide range of learners. The post-holder will be involved in the marketing, planning, delivery, assessment and internal verification of Engineering programmes across a range of levels from level 1 up to HNC/D. This will involve supporting the College learners in achieving their academic goals and career progression by delivering high quality lessons, and ensuring high student attendance and satisfaction. Experience in delivery of Pearsons, City and Guilds including T Levels is required. The post-holder's existing excellent skills will be enhanced by the College's continuous professional development programme. The successful candidate will teach on a range of programmes including Level 1 /2 and T Level provisions. The post may require course management responsibility acting in the role as Course Lead. Teaching may be across a range of programmes and levels within both workshop and theoretical settings.

Main Duties for this role include:

  • To plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes across a range of levels using the appropriate college format to ensure effective learning.
  • To deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard to achieve high success rates.
  • To assess accurately learners' work both formatively and summative against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
  • To comply with all college quality assurance procedures as prescribed by the Deputy Principal to ensure the achievement of all internal and external audits.
  • To liaise with external agencies, including validating bodies, employers and placement providers.
  • To take personal and professional responsibility for keeping up-to-date in the subject area.
