Our Maths & English department are excited to announce that we are looking for a team member to join the department as a Lecturer in Maths. The Role: This is an exciting opportunity to join the Maths & English team to deliver effective teaching, learning and assessment to learners within the department at GCSE & Functional Skills Level. You will also have some course leadership and internal verification responsibilities. Suitable applicants must possess a relevant Degree or equivalent qualification to at least Level 6, a Teaching Qualification to the required national standards and hold a Level 2 qualification in Mathematics and ITQ or have a willingness to work towards the qualifications in a timely manner. Successful applicants will have previous experience in a similar role, ideally within an FE environment.
Main Duties for this role include:
- To plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes using the appropriate college format to ensure effective learning.
- To deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard to achieve high success rates.
- To assess accurately learners work both formatively and summatively against appropriate awarding body criteria to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
- To use all appropriate resources effectively to ensure that the learners experience results in positive learning outcomes and high professional standards.
- To support learners progress through personal tutoring and parent/careers evenings to help learners achieve their full potential and progress appropriately.
