Job Purpose: To provide design and technical support to the Technical and Regional Manager, Area Engineers and Sales Co-ordinators and the wider Maccaferri Ltd design team.
Responsibilities:
- Reading drawings, quantifying materials & preparing outline quotes.
- Generate technical proposals, construction drawings and bespoke details, including the use of BIM.
- Work closely with the regional sales team responding to incoming phone calls and generating quotations.
- Use of CRM database to manage enquiries, follow up and secure orders.
- Undertake engineering designs and design proposals using design software in accordance with the company’s ISO9001 quality.
- Maintain the Company’s commercial interest by utilisation of a knowledge of the Maccaferri product range and an understanding of competitor products to enable the promotion of Maccaferri products and systems to clients as preferred solutions.
- Undertake such professional, organisational and administration duties as may be required by the Technical Manager.
- Participate in the creation of technical tools / presentations etc and assist the technical teams on site visits / technical presentations where required.
- Provide technical support to the operations of the construction teams.
- Maintain an appreciation of capabilities within the field of geotechnical engineering to the benefit of business and personal development.
- Working with Area Engineers / Regional Manager to promote the Company through proactive development and monitoring of customer relationships and managing their expectations.
Additional Requirements:
- To work closely with, assist and provide cover for other members of the Regional Team as appropriate.
Training: Maccaferri provides full training and support appropriate to the current status and future development of the position and employee. This is an entry level+ technical position and it is intended that the successful applicant will be provided with and be capable of developing the skills necessary to become an Area Engineer in future.

The Person:
- Proactive and able to manage priorities.
- Personable with good standard of telephone and other written communication.

- Have initiative and confidence to promote new ideas.
- Industry background minimum 2 years experience working in a construction/civil engineering related position.
- HND/HNC/Degree - industry related qualification.
- Knowledge of CRM databases useful.
- Self-motivated with ability to work to deadlines.
- Team mentality.
- Familiar with office procedures and be able to adapt and learn new systems and procedures.
Location: Normally based out of Hillborough but hybrid working may be an option.
