We’re looking for a Restore Nature Delivery Manager to lead nature restoration partnerships across Wiltshire and to manage the Wiltshire Countryside Team. This role sits as a key member of the Property Leadership Team, and is central to achieving our strategic ambition to restore nature at scale, working collaboratively with National Trust specialists, external partners and communities. In partnership with other organisations across Wiltshire, you’ll have a key role in delivering our ambition for “30 by 30” on Trust land and with others. You’ll be responsible for enabling and coordinating delivery through multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring our work is impactful, inclusive and sustainable.

Wiltshire is a distinctive and ecologically significant county, supporting one of the largest concentrations of calcareous grassland in England, with an estimated third of the national total. It also contains high-value habitats of national and international importance, including chalk streams, species-rich grasslands, and ancient semi-natural woodlands. These habitats are closely interwoven with a rich cultural landscape, most notably the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site with its globally significant archaeological features. The county’s natural and cultural heritage has been shaped by long-established farming systems that continue to influence landscape character, ecological function and wildlife. This context presents a significant opportunity to deliver landscape-scale nature recovery, reconnecting habitats and restoring ecological processes in ways that also support farming resilience, public access, and cultural heritage. The role will primarily be based at West Kennett Farm near Avebury, the Stonehenge Ranger Base and other locations within Wiltshire. Due to the nature and location of our dispersed countryside sites, a driving licence is essential. As part of this key operational role, some weekend and evening work will be required.

You will be a driving force for nature recovery across Wiltshire. To do this, you’ll lead the Countryside Team, with a focus on the day-to-day care of our sites, and the delivery of nature restoration projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with our Strategy. You’ll facilitate collaboration across teams, integrate expertise and best practice, and continuously evolve our delivery methods. You’ll manage risk, maintain compliance, and ensure delivery meets agreed quality, cost and time parameters. You’ll also play a key role in influencing stakeholders, unlocking funding opportunities, and driving change to restore nature at scale.

We’d love to hear from you, if you’re:

  • highly experienced in nature conservation, working in protected landscapes, and in partnership with others
  • resilient and experienced in working effectively with both internal and external partners
  • skilled in managing large complex projects and budgets
  • confident in leading a diverse team
  • able to show examples of where you’ve successfully managed change
  • adept at negotiating, influencing and communicating
  • keen to make a difference, show initiative and work towards a sustainable future
  • able to oversee compliance and liaise with contractors
