Are you a payroll expert looking to make an impact in a busy retail environment? Our client is seeking a hands-on Payroll & People Services Partner to manage end-to-end payroll, support HR initiatives, and help drive process improvements.
Location: Castleford
Salary: Up to £40,000
What You'll Do:
- Process UK and Ireland payroll accurately, including starters, leavers, maternity pay, sick pay, CIS, and ad-hoc adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with PAYE, NIC, pensions, Auto Enrolment, and HMRC regulations.
- Handle payroll queries confidently, troubleshoot discrepancies, and support audits and year-end processes.
- Support HR initiatives, including employee benefits, annual salary reviews, workforce planning, and employee relations.
- Work with Workday and payroll systems, assist with reporting, audits, and process improvement projects.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 5 years UK payroll experience (certified or by experience).
- Hands-on experience with high-volume, complex payroll, including retail shift patterns and overtime.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and attention to numerical detail.
- Knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
Desirable:
- CIPD Level 3 or above
- Project management experience
- Experience with Workday or similar HRIS
