Salary : £40,000 - £65,000k + car/allowance.

MacArthur Recruitment is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work on Cumbrian based projects for a family construction and engineering company. An autonomous role where youâ re given the authority to make it your own. Customer, company and supply chain focussed, youâ ll mix being out on site, keeping track of projects, getting up to date on changes, progress and variations as well as working in the office closely with colleagues, company directors and senior staff.

Main responsibilities for the role of Quantity Surveyor:
Working with the Estimator, directors, site staff, trades, customer and supply chain â architects or sub-contractors, to manage and deliver various projects from new build construction, engineering projects, refurbs to rebuilds.

Requirements for the role of Quantity Surveyor:
Projects vary from the £10kâ s of thousands to a few £Million; run under JCT, NEC, council or through simple agreements or non-contracts. Youâ ll use your Quantity Surveying experience, ideally gained over a number of years and a variety of environments and contract types to take control of the role and help deliver projects with care and trust to a high quality.

Key Accountabilities for the role of Quantity Surveyor will include:

  • Communicate internally and externally with stakeholders to monitor projects, variations, finances and deliverable
  • Be able to work in a flexible, varied environment â there is opportunity for you to implement new processes
  • Excellent communicator â client, suppliers, site and internal staff
  • Work within NEC, JCT, DB and other contract frameworks
  • Variations, multi-valuations, cashflows, schedules, Bill of Quantities, Materials
  • Open to new ideas, learning, empathetic, trustworthy, patient, diplomatic
  • Visit sites to keep up to date on progress, variations, quality
  • Work closely with Estimator and other internal staff as well as trades, other site staff and directors
  • Projects are for private, public, commercial, education and charity sectors, amongst others
  • Work in a relaxed environment where family, trust and self-motivation are key
  • Degree or qualification would be a bonus
