MacArthur Recruitment is looking for a Buyer to join the team for our client in Newcastle. This is with a friendly, family owned and well-run business who look after their people and offer a great working environment and development.
Summary for the role of Buyer:
- Sourcing the right suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing the procurement process.
- Evaluating supplier proposals, assessing quality and pricing, and making informed decisions to secure the best deals for the company.
- Playing a critical role in supplier relationship management, monitoring supplier performance to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery.
- Contributing significantly to cost reduction and supply chain optimization.

Overview of the role of Buyer:
- Raising bought out components request for quotations within the ERP system.
- Raising manufacturing and raw material RFoQ's within IFS.
- Converting quotations into purchase orders within IFS.
- Coordinating efficiently and obtaining updates from multiple suppliers for open purchase orders.
- Addressing discrepancies present in non-conforming products.
- Possessing a base level understanding of engineering drawings.
- Ownership of the Change Order Management Process.
- Securing budget pricing and deliveries.
Your experience for the role of Buyer:
- IT literate and proficient in using Microsoft Office suite.
- Previous experience working within an office environment.
- Various levels of entry from new to the role to an experienced Buyer.
- Familiarity with procurement software, ERP systems, and other relevant tools.
- CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) Level 2 or Level 3 qualification would be ideal.
