Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer, home based / Crooklands, Cumbria. Due to our client’s continued success and growth, MacArthur Recruitment are looking for an experienced Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to work for them on a variety of projects. This role is mostly home based with the occasional office visit. Initially it will be project / ad-hoc pieces of work but there is a definite possibility for it to grow into something more long term.
Overview of the role and task of Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer:
- Mechanical building services engineer - building services design
- Power, renewables, biomass, renewables design, heat pumps, ASHP, WSHP, HVAC design
- AutoCAD 2D, MS Office
- EnergyPro a bonus
- Home working, Skype, occasional meeting
- Based on project packages
- Rate of £28ph - £30ph
- Electrical building design services engineer (Or someone who can do M&E.)
- Flexible resource.
Experience required for the role of Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer:
- Heat loss calculations
- Heating system design, pumps, pipe sizing, heat exchanger sizing
- District heating design knowledge
- Biomass design
- CHP design
- Application of pressure system standards and controls (PED)
- Knowledge / competency in the use and application of the relevant National, European & International Boiler Codes, Design Codes and Standards to provide safe compliant component design
- Knowledge and awareness of Industry Health & Safety legislation / requirements
- Ability to select functional and economic materials
- Understanding of a range of technologies and engineering drawings
Qualifications required for the role of Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer:
- Graduate / BEng Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Building Services
- Ideally had hands on installation experience at some stage
