Machine Operators (Quilting) in Wigton, Cumbria
Pay: £10.32ph PAYE
Rotating Shift Pattern:
- Week 1: Monday to Thursday 6am to 2pm and Friday 6am to 1pm
- Week 2: Monday to Thursday 2pm to 10.30pm and Friday 1pm to 6pm
MacArthur Recruitment is seeking a team of Quilting Operators to join a successful manufacturing business based in North-West Cumbria who are growing. You'll be comfortable around computers as well as having some basic mechanical knowledge for minor machinery breakdowns and basic maintenance. Training provided on specific machines and other aspects such as Safety, 6S and manual handling.
Person Specification:
- Ability to work with computer systems
- Previous sewing experience is helpful
- Basic mechanical aptitude to deal with minor machinery breakdowns and changeovers
- Capable of checking quality including physical measurements and visual examination
- Ability to work with a team and communicate effectively
- Understanding Safety and 6S systems and ensuring compliance (a bonus / further training provided)
- Some level of manual handling is required – with assistance as well as cleaning up
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the completion of daily production within the quilting area.
- Responsible for the safe, timely and efficient production of high-quality products.
- Ensure the quality of all quilted product through physical and visual checks.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance on quilting and sewing machines as directed by the maintenance supervisor.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules and 6S requirements.
- Assist with stocktakes and other stock control activities.
- Becoming multi-skilled in other functions to ensure that team outcomes are achieved.
- Work within a team to ensure that all Best Practice programs are implemented and working successfully.
