We are supporting a high-performing Energy from Waste facility in Scotland, looking to appoint a Plant Manager to take full ownership of site operations, performance, and team leadership.

This is a senior role with full responsibility for delivering operational excellence, driving safety culture, and ensuring the plant meets contractual and financial targets.

The Role

  • Full accountability for site operations, maintenance, and overall performance
  • Lead a strong safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all HSE and environmental regulations
  • Deliver plant KPIs including availability, efficiency, and output targets
  • Own site P&L, budgets, and financial performance
  • Lead, develop, and manage a multidisciplinary operations and maintenance team
  • Oversee outage planning, execution, and recovery from unplanned shutdowns
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships including regulators, contractors, and internal functions
  • Drive continuous improvement across plant performance, reliability, and cost efficiency

  • Senior leadership experience within power generation, EfW, or process plant environments
  • Strong track record managing plant performance and delivering against KPIs
  • Experience owning budgets and financial performance
  • Strong knowledge of HSE, environmental compliance, and permit conditions
  • Engineering background or equivalent operational experience - Qualification is essential
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
