The Role

We are working with a well-established industrial recycling and processing business operating a high-volume, 24/7 facility. They are looking for a hands-on Reactive Maintenance Engineer to support plant reliability and keep operations running smoothly. This is a mechanically biased role with some electrical exposure, focused on reactive and planned maintenance across a range of heavy plant equipment. Ideal for someone who enjoys fault-finding in a fast-paced, production-led environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and keep plant operational
  • Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities
  • Fault finding, repair and overhaul of mechanical equipment
  • Work on conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors and associated plant
  • Replace components such as bearings, motors, valves etc.
  • Assist with plant improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation accurately
  • Support general site maintenance when required

Requirements

  • Mechanically biased with Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working on industrial plant machinery (conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.)
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, heavy industrial or processing environment
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to shifts and workload
