A well-established marine engineering and ship repair organisation is looking to recruit experienced Mechanical Engineers to join their skilled workforce at their Aberdeen shipyard facility. Due to continued growth and long-term contracts, this is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and stable engineering environment supporting offshore, marine and heavy industrial vessels.

The Role
Working within a busy dry dock and ship repair yard, the Mechanical Engineer will support mechanical maintenance, repair and installation work across a range of vessels and marine equipment. You will work closely with experienced engineering teams carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting and mechanical repair activities within the shipyard environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out mechanical repair and maintenance work on vessels and marine equipment
- Support ship repair and overhaul projects within a dry dock environment
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Assist with installation and replacement of mechanical components and systems
- Work safely within a heavy engineering and shipyard environment
- Collaborate with foremen, supervisors and wider engineering teams
Requirements:
- Mechanical engineering or heavy engineering experience.
- Experience working within shipyards, marine engineering, offshore, fabrication, or similar heavy industrial environments is beneficial
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding engineering environment
- Willingness to work overtime and weekend shifts when required
- Strong attitude towards health and safety
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK
- A formal engineering degree is not required.
