We are seeking an experienced EC&I Engineer to join its high-performing engineering team at a modern power generation facility in the South West of England. This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation professional looking to play a key role in maintaining and improving the reliability, performance and safety of a complex process plant.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of electrical, control and instrumentation engineering across the site. Working closely with operational and maintenance teams, you will ensure plant availability is maximised while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance and engineering excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing electrical, control and instrumentation maintenance activities across the facility
  • Supporting planned and reactive maintenance programmes to maximise plant reliability
  • Assisting with outage planning and execution
  • Supervising contractors and specialist service providers on site
  • Supporting permit-to-work and safe system of work processes
  • Utilising the CMMS to plan, monitor and record maintenance activities
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineering and operational personnel
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and efficiency

Applicants should possess:

  • HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical, Control, Instrumentation or related Engineering discipline
  • Strong knowledge of EC&I equipment maintenance and repair techniques
  • Experience working within heavy industrial, power generation, process manufacturing, utilities or Energy-from-Waste environments
  • Experience operating within Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work
  • Previous experience supervising contractors and delivering maintenance KPI targets
  • Familiarity with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
