- About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established operator within the industrial processing and energy sector for a
Health & Safety Advisor to join their team at their site in Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, engineering and contractors to drive a positive safety culture within a busy industrial environment.
This is a fully site-based , Monday to Friday position, where you'll play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
The Role
Reporting into the Site Leadership Team, with support from the wider Group Health & Safety function, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day Health & Safety support across the site.
- Promoting a positive Health & Safety culture through visible leadership.
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits and compliance monitoring.
- Leading and supporting accident, incident and near miss investigations.
- Reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Supporting contractor management and permit-to-work activities.
- Delivering toolbox talks and Health & Safety communications.
- Monitoring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Working closely with operations, engineering and maintenance teams to improve safety performance.
About You
We're keen to hear from candidates who have
- CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 (or working towards it) would be advantageous.
- Experience within heavy industrial, manufacturing or operational environments
- Experience carrying out incident investigations.
- Experience with contractor management.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Exposure to ISO 45001 and internal auditing.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to influence operational teams.
- A hands-on approach and a genuine passion for improving workplace safety.
