We are looking for a friendly and approachable Finance Manager to join our Finance department in Blackpool.

As this is a hybrid role, there will be a requirement to work on site for at least 2 to 3 days per week, at our Lancashire, Blackpool site.

The main focus of the role will be to provide and guide financial health, ensure regulatory compliance, and support growth by providing accurate data, managing cash flow, and leading strategic budgeting.

KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business management (required)
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or CFA (desirable)
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.(required)
  • Deep understanding of tax laws and statutory financial reporting standards. (required)
  • Expertise in ERP systems like Net Suite, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics. (required)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling and data forecasting.(required)
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, internal controls, and risk management.(required)

REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive Cash Flow Management and Liquidity
  • Liquidity: Monitor cash moving in and out daily to keep the business operational.
  • Forecasting: Predict future cash needs to prevent shortfalls or fund upcoming projects.
  • Working Capital: Optimise inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable collections tightly.
  • Lead Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
  • Budgeting: Build and manage the annual company budget across all departments.
  • Forecasting: Update financial models quarterly to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Variance Analysis: Compare actual spending against budgets to catch and fix overspending.
  • Ensure Compliance and Financial Reporting
  • Closing Books: Oversee accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate, on-time filings for corporate tax, VAT, and payroll.
  • Audits: Serve as the main contact for external auditors to guarantee clean reports.
  • Provide Strategic Advisory and Growth Support
  • Cost Control: Identify operational inefficiencies to protect and improve profit margins.
  • ROI Evaluation: Analyse potential investments, new product lines, or business expansions.
  • Capital Sourcing: Help secure or manage bank loans and lines of credit for growth
  • Team Leadership and System Management
  • Staff Management: Train, supervise, and develop a small team of accounts staff.
  • Process Automation: Maintain and upgrade financial software to improve data accuracy.
