About the role
Reporting to the Director, Strategy & Operations, you will play a critical role in shaping organisational culture, strengthening workforce capability, and supporting a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven workforce. As HR Manager, you will provide expert leadership across the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, workforce planning, industrial and legislative compliance, performance management, learning and development, employee engagement, organisational culture, and OHS/WHS. You will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, providing clear, pragmatic HR guidance while continuously improving systems, frameworks and ways of working.
Key responsibilities
- Lead initiatives that strengthen and embed SHV’s organisational culture and values
- Provide expert advice on Fair Work legislation, industrial awards and agreements, and OHS/WHS obligations
- Coach and support leaders to confidently manage performance, conduct, and employee relations matters
- Ensure compliance and consistency across employment contracts, policies and workforce decisions
- Lead and continuously improve the full HR lifecycle, including OHS/WHS governance and practices
- Design and implement best-practice HR and workforce frameworks, policies and procedures
- Optimise SHV’s Employment Hero HR system, ensuring data integrity, reporting capability and workforce insights to support informed decision-making
About you
You are a confident, collaborative and values-driven HR professional who brings both strategic insight and operational excellence. You thrive in autonomous roles, build strong relationships, and are comfortable advising across complex and sensitive people matters. Experience in the health, community services or not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded, along with a genuine commitment to inclusion, diversity and equity.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline, or significant equivalent experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in a senior HR or HR Manager role
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing best-practice HR and OHS/WHS frameworks
- Strong working knowledge of workplace legislation, industrial instruments and performance management
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve workplace issues confidentially and sensitively
- Confidence influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency with modern digital systems, including Office 365 and HR information systems (Employment Hero experience highly regarded)
