Design Engineer

Due to continued growth, we are currently looking for a design engineer to join our engineering team in one of our regional design offices. You will be responsible for producing and checking temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework.
The role would suit an experienced engineer with demonstratable technical and commercial experience in structures or geotechnical design and a sound understanding of temporary works.

Your Responsibilities
You will:
- Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks, formwork & falsework, or propping and jacking schemes,
- Checking designs and drawing in accordance with BS5975:2024
- Attend client meetings and carry out site visits
- Review design briefs provided by the sales team and provide feedback if more information is required
- Managing your own workload
- Identify & lead continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director
About You
You will have:
- A HND or degree in civil/structural engineering
- At least 3 years experience designing temporary works
- The ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment
- Experience in designing Groundworks, Formwork & Falsework or Propping
- Good understanding of CDM 2015
- Experience utilising AutoCAD and/or REVIT
We would also love it if you have:
- Experience of checking Groundworks, Formwork & Falsework or Propping
- Experience training and mentoring junior members of the team
- Experience working for a supplier or in a commercial environment
- Some experience working on site
