The Role

We are looking for an experienced Architectural Technologist to join our Birmingham studio. This role will involve delivering technical design information across all RIBA work stages, coordinating consultants and project teams, and ensuring projects are developed and delivered to the highest technical standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, providing technical expertise, supporting colleagues, liaising with clients and consultants, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the practice across a diverse range of sectors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading multidisciplinary project teams across various sectors.

  • Review, produce, and coordinate high-quality technical design information across all RIBA Work Stages

  • Conduct site visits and act as a key representative of the practice.

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities

  • Apply a practical, problem-solving approach to complex design challenges

  • Travel to project sites across the UK as required

  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Applicants are required to have:

  • 5 years of industry experience working as an architectural technologist, architectural technician or technically biased architect.

  • Architectural Technology degree or equivalent (UK recognised)

  • Sound understanding of Building Regulations and current construction legislation.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects, preferably with schools, industrial or residential experience.

  • Experience in all phases of the design process, from conceptualisation to construction including site oversight.

  • Experience and confidence of operating within a client facing role.

  • Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools.

  • Motivation to work as part of a team and to manage own time and workload

  • Excellent written and spoken English essential

  • ArchiCad experience beneficial but not essential as CAD / BIM support and training will be provided
