Cylindrical Grinder / Manual Machinist Our client, based in Glasgow, is looking for an experienced Cylindrical Grinder / Manual Machinist to join their team on a permanent basis.
World-renowned within the manufacturing sector, they are looking for a permanent candidate to join their highly skilled team of engineers.

Gritty: As a Cylindrical Grinder / Manual Machinist, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality precision components using manual machining techniques, with a particular focus on cylindrical grinding.
You'll also receive full training to operate the company's specialist Threadmill machinery, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills within a world-class manufacturing environment.
Your responsibilities will include: Operating cylindrical grinding and surface grinding machines.
Learning and operating specialist Threadmill machinery.
Setting up machines and making process adjustments where required.
De-burring screwsets and matching idlers and rotors.
Inspecting finished components against engineering drawings and quality standards.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate manufacture.
Maintaining machine efficiency records and carrying out routine preventative maintenance.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
Participating in health & safety activities, including risk assessments.
Assisting with training colleagues and apprentices when required.

Details: We're looking for candidates who have: A time-served apprenticeship in manufacturing or an equivalent engineering qualification (NC/HNC or similar).
Experience in manual machining, particularly cylindrical grinding, turning or milling.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
Experience operating manual machinery and overhead/jib cranes.
A proactive approach with a strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement.
Valid right to work in the UK.
