Sale e Pepe Mare at The Langham, London, brings the spirit of coastal Italy to one of the capital’s most iconic hotels. Combining exceptional ingredients, warm hospitality, and refined Italian cuisine, we are now looking for a passionate Pastry Commis to join our growing pastry team.
The Role
As a Pastry Commis, you will support the pastry kitchen in delivering beautifully crafted desserts, pastries, and baked goods to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring pastry chef to develop their skills within a professional and ambitious kitchen environment. Working alongside experienced pastry chefs, the Pastry Commis will gain exposure to all aspects of pastry production, service, and presentation while building a strong foundation for future career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of desserts, pastries, breads, and other pastry items
- Ensure recipes and presentation standards are followed consistently
- Support mise en place and service preparation
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards
- Keep the pastry section clean, organised, and well stocked
- Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team
- Learn and develop under the guidance of senior chefs
About You
- Previous pastry experience or professional culinary training is desirable
- Genuine passion for pastry and baking
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Excellent team player
