The Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to take ownership of the Accounts Payable function across multiple restaurant venues. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will lead a small team and be responsible for ensuring supplier invoices, reconciliations, payment runs and month-end processes are completed accurately, efficiently and on time. This is a hands‑on role suited to a detail‑oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment and is passionate about driving process improvements and strengthening financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable Management
    • Manage the end‑to‑end purchase ledger process across multiple venues
    • Oversee supplier invoice processing and approval workflows
    • Ensure accurate coding of invoices, VAT treatment and cost allocation
    • Review and resolve invoice exceptions and supplier queries
    • Maintain a clean and accurate purchase ledger
    • Prepare and review supplier payment runs
  • Reconciliations & Controls
    • Perform supplier statement reconciliations
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, missing invoices and credit notes
    • Monitor aged creditors and outstanding balances
    • Maintain robust supporting documentation and audit trails
    • Strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with internal procedures
  • Month‑End & Reporting
    • Support month‑end close processes and invoice cut‑off deadlines
    • Assist with accruals and cost reporting
    • Provide aged creditor reports and supplier balance analysis
    • Support cash flow forecasting through accurate creditor reporting
  • Process Improvement
    • Drive improvements within accounts payable processes
    • Support the implementation and optimisation of automated invoice processing systems
    • Identify efficiencies and recommend best practice solutions
    • Help standardise processes across all venues

About You

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager, AP Supervisor, Purchase Ledger Manager or Senior AP Specialist who can combine strong technical knowledge with excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills. You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience managing a high‑volume Accounts Payable function
  • Experience working across multiple sites or business units
  • Strong supplier reconciliation experience
  • Experience preparing and managing payment runs
  • Good understanding of VAT and cost allocation principles
  • Strong Excel and finance systems knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A proactive, organised and hands‑on approach

Experience within hospitality, restaurants, hotels, leisure or retail would be highly advantageous.
