Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager will lead and manage multiple construction projects from inception to completion. This role entails overseeing project planning, execution, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure successful delivery within defined timeframes and budget constraints. Overseeing the coordination of cross-functional teams, contractors and clients, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Role Entry Requirements
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent level of knowledge gained by practical work experience such as contractor or sub-contractor background/project management
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools and best practice
- Basic knowledge and understanding of building contracts and cost plans
- Basic understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
- Basic understanding of the Building Safety Act and the amendments to the Building
- MRICS/MCIOB/MAPM qualified
- Driving license required
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 360, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel. Microsoft Office Project, Matterport and AutoCAD viewer (desirable)
It is essential anybody coming into this role has excellent commercial project management skills experience working within the construction industry as either a project manager or similar. The person should have good commercial project management abilities, with experience of managing multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and to budget. This role should have the ability to communicate clearly, build relationships, influence key stakeholders across all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding.
Job Responsibilities
- To supervise and oversee construction projects from inception to completion; ensuring they stay on schedule, within budget and to scope.
- To oversee the development of detailed project plans and specifications, ensuring they are aligned to client requirements.
- To ensure all project deliverables, key milestones, and timelines are aligned with business goals.
- To conduct regular project reviews (including attending site) to assess project progress against the schedule and budget, adjusting as needed.
- To ensure projects are meeting quality standards.
- To lead project meetings including pre-starts, progress meetings and handover. To ensure all meetings are documented.
- To oversee the coordination of cross-functional teams and to always ensure effective communication between contractors and clients.
- To lead and motivate cross-functional teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication whilst managing any issues that arise.
- To offer guidance and support to junior staff members as and when required.
