The Building Surveyor will provide reliable assessments and evaluations of buildings to ensure they meet legal and safety standards. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, identifying structural issues, advising on repair and maintenance solutions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Building Surveyor plays a critical part in project planning, risk management, and sustainability initiatives, working closely with project teams, contractors and clients to deliver safe and efficient building solutions.
Providing a consultancy advisory service to clients on a range of building and property issues including technical, financial, legal, environmental, regulatory and restoration matters. Providing clients timely advice in relation to legal and planning issues including managing the planning and building regulations application process. Liaising with local planning bodies to ensure that projects meet safety, sustainability and preservation standards.
Carrying out building surveys to a consistently high standard across multiple construction projects at any one time. Providing clients advice on property alterations, improvements, extensions and deterioration of defects of properties. Providing clients advice and support (and monitoring) with unexpected damage (fire, flood) on property including assessing the condition and any defects in the building. Assisting with insurance claims or a financial settlement where required.
To assist and oversee any small scale building works when architects are not required. To work closely with other service divisions such as Cost Management and Projects to ensure that collaborative client projects are delivered on time with scope and to budget. Attending conferences and networking events. Build new business contacts/networks.

- Communication and organisational skills are crucial at this level with the aim to develop a level of independence whilst continuing to build their knowledge of the administration of construction contracts from inception to completion.
