Job Title: Building Regulations Principal DesignerDivision : Safety and ComplianceLocation : Hybrid/Office/SiteWe are looking for a Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) Consultant to play a key role in delivering compliant, safe, and well-coordinated design solutions across a diverse project portfolio.This is a senior, client-facing position where you will lead on Building Regulations compliance during the design phase, working closely with clients, designers, and regulators. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 while managing design risk and driving high-quality outcomes.Alongside project delivery, you will contribute to the growth of our BRPD service offering and help position us as a leading compliance partner in the market.What youll be responsible forLeading Building Regulations compliancePlan, manage, and coordinate compliance throughout the design phaseDevelop and maintain clear compliance strategies and trackersReview design information to ensure alignment with functional requirementsIdentify and manage compliance risks, advising on practical solutionsEnsure design changes are assessed, recorded, and communicatedCoordinating stakeholdersWork closely with designers to ensure duties are understood and fulfilledCoordinate duty holders and clarify responsibilities across the project teamLiaise with Building Control Bodies and Registered Building InspectorsSupport clients in meeting their statutory obligationsClient leadershipBuild strong, long-term client relationshipsAct as a trusted advisor on compliance and design riskLead and contribute to key project and design team meetingsProvide clear, commercially aware guidance aligned to project objectiveSupporting business growthIdentify opportunities to expand BRPD and wider compliance servicesContribute to bids, proposals, and client presentationsSupport the development of tools, processes, and service offeringsRepresent the business at industry events and networking opportunitiesTeam contributionMentor and support junior team membersReview technical outputs to ensure quality and consistencyContribute to best practice, templates, and internal processesWhat were looking forDegree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, Engineering, or similar Membership of a relevant professional body (RIBA, CIAT, CIOB, CABE or equivalent)Demonstrable competence aligned with PAS 8671 (or working towards)Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building RegulationsExperience delivering Building Regulations compliance across multiple project typesConfident coordinating design teams and managing compliance through design stagesExperience engaging with Building Control Bodies or Registered Building InspectorsAbility to interpret complex technical design information and communicate clearlyWhat success looks like in this roleProjects delivered with clear, well-documented compliance strategiesClients who see you as a trusted, proactive advisorStrong coordination across design teams with minimal compliance riskContribution to the growth and recognition of our BRPD serviceOur ValuesCollaboration - 'Stronger Together'Client Focused - 'Listen to Clients.
