FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
M4 Talent Group are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of one of our well-established clients based in Dunstable.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys working within a fast-paced warehouse and distribution environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting site compliance, driving safe working practices, overseeing MHE training activities, and promoting a positive health and safety culture across the operation.
Working hours are Monday to Friday.
Duties will include
- Supporting the Health & Safety Manager with site audits, inspections, investigations and compliance activities. ·
- Assisting with accident reporting, record keeping and the monitoring of corrective actions. ·
- Monitoring health and safety standards across the site and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. ·
- Managing and coordinating MHE training activities to ensure operational requirements are met. ·
- Reviewing training documentation and ensuring records remain up to date and compliant. ·
- Delivering MHE training and refresher training in line with industry best practice and recognised standards.
- Providing guidance and feedback to colleagues, supervisors and management teams on safe working procedures.
- Monitoring equipment usage and operator compliance, escalating concerns where necessary.
- Supporting the development of training programmes and maintaining consistent training standards.
- Assisting with contractor monitoring and ensuring site safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Supporting and developing members of the training team to ensure high levels of competency and engagement.
Skills / Experience / Training required
- Previous experience within a Health & Safety position, ideally within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
- Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations. · Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring a small team would be advantageous.
- MHE experience, including Forklift Trucks, PPTs, LLOPs or Counterbalance Trucks, is desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan workloads and training schedules effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence colleagues at all levels.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- NEBOSH qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Experience within a fast-paced warehouse, logistics or operational environment would be beneficial.
