Bristol Waste Company is excited to be recruiting Refuse Loaders. Join their dedicated team and help ensure that Bristol's streets stay clean and tidy, while supporting refuse and recycling collections across the city.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00 AM - 14:18 PM
Pay Rates:
- £12.71 per hour (First 12 weeks)
- £19.07 per hour (Overtime first 12 weeks)
- £25.42 per hour (Bank Holiday & Sunday first 12 weeks)
- £13.45 per hour (After 12 weeks)
- £20.18 per hour (Overtime after 12 weeks)
- £26.90 per hour (Bank Holiday & Sunday after 12 weeks)
Your Role: As a Refuse Loader, you'll play a key part in keeping Bristol clean and helping with the smooth operation of waste and recycling services in the city. You'll work alongside a supportive team and have a direct impact on your local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting refuse and recycling from residential and commercial properties.
- Sorting materials and storing them safely at the depot.
- Adhering to all Health & Safety procedures, including manual handling.
- Using handheld devices to complete basic tasks and paperwork.
- Offering excellent customer service to the public, including handing out leaflets and sharing important information.
- Communicating with supervisors to help streamline daily operations.
- Flexibility to support various services across locations, including Commercial, Street Cleansing, Garden Waste, Refuse & Recycling (Hartcliffe, Avonmouth, Albert Road).
What We're Looking For:
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg and handle bins.
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Flexible, with a willingness to work on Saturdays after bank holidays.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
