The Role
As an HGV Class 2 Refuse & Recycling Driver, you will play a key role in keeping the city clean and supporting environmental sustainability. Working as part of a team, your responsibilities will include:
- Safely operating a Class 2 refuse and recycling vehicle.
- Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects.
- Assisting with the collection of waste and recycling materials.
- Loading and unloading recycling boxes and containers.
- Pushing and pulling bins weighing up to 25kg.
- Using mobile technology to complete operational paperwork and route information.
- Providing support to other service areas, including recycling and garden waste collections when required.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and customer service at all times.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Good knowledge of driver hours, tachograph regulations and road transport legislation.
- A positive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
- The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A reasonable level of physical fitness, with the ability to lift and manoeuvre loads up to 25kg safely.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
