Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE
Hours: 41.5 hours per week
Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Holidays: 23 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
M4 Recruitment are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Stevenage who are looking to recruit an experienced Toolmaker to join their modern, well-equipped toolroom. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-precision manufacturing environment, producing and maintaining injection mould tools using industry-leading machinery and in-house design systems.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, modification, maintenance and repair of injection mould tools, working to tight tolerances while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The toolroom is equipped with Hurco machining centres, Sodick wire eroders, Sodick CNC spark eroders, Jones & Shipman surface grinders, in-house design using Pro Engineer and CAM programming using Powermill.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Use of manual milling machines
- Use of lathes
- Use of surface and cylindrical grinders
- Use of manual and CNC spark eroders
- Use of CNC wire eroder
- Modification and repair of injection mould tools
- Manufacture and fitting of new injection mould tools
- Use of hand tools such as files, hacksaws and grinders
- Wiring of hot runner systems and fault finding
- General toolmaking including milling, grinding and fitting
About You
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Experience in injection mould toolmaking and high-precision machining, milling, grinding and fitting
- Experience in fitting and assembly of complex mould tools, including repair
- Ability to work to tight timescales without compromising quality or safety
- Experience in maintenance, repair and modification of injection mould tools
- Experience preparing new mould tools for production
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small team
