Job Description
M4 Recruitment are working with a leading metal distributor who are expanding the team in Reading. We are looking for Warehouse/forklift Operatives to start asap!
*Please note the site is due to reloacte to Basingstoke over the next few months*
Key Responsibilities
- Picking and Packing: Accurately selecting and packing various metal items according to order specifications, ensuring they are ready for dispatch.
- Labelling and checking quantity of stock and filling in paperwork.
- Operating warehouse machinery, in particular the Counterbalance Forklift. (preferred not essential)
- Following Instructions: Adhering to, order details, and general warehouse procedures.
- Teamwork and Independence: Working effectively both as part of a team to achieve common goals and independently when required to complete individual tasks.
- General Warehouse Duties: Undertaking a range of warehouse tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the facility. This includes maintaining tidiness, organizing stock, and other related duties.
- Heavy Lifting: Performing tasks that may involve some heavy lifting of metal items, up to 25kg.
- Communication: Maintaining excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and follow instructions accurately.
- Safety Awareness: Adhering to all health and safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse environment.
- Essential: Own transport due to the company's current location on the outskirts of Reading (RG7)
Monday – Friday AM shift 5am-2pm or Mid Shift 9am-6pm.
This is a temporary position that could lead to a permanent role after a qualifying period.
