Our client based in Portbury is looking for HGV Class 2 drivers for ongoing work starting around 15:00 in the afternoon. Work pattern is Sunday till Thursday with the possibility to only work 4 days instead of 5.
Work is double manned (paired with another driver or driver mate) and shifts are quite long (usually 12 hrs and more). Work consists of delivering racks of clothes and totes to stores. Some handball involved; items are not heavy but work is repetitive and loading/unloading lorries is included.
Work is ongoing, paying £17 per hour following a written and practical assessment. Ideally over a year holding C category and driving experience but potentially under 1 year will be considered.
Breaks are paid on this contract.Our ideal driver:
- Will have no more than 6 points on full UK Licence, CPC and Tacho card
- Will have a good understanding of Tacho laws and driving regulations
- Will have some previous HGV driving experience (ideally over 1 year)
- Will have a positive attitude
- Will not be shy of manual handling
