M4 Digital Group, an IT Delivery Practice, is a forward-thinking and fast-growing SME with an established UK client base. As the next stage in our expansion plan, we require the services of a SAM Service Lead/Principal to help support service deployment with one of our clients and be responsible for the end-to-end ownership and leadership of a Software Asset Management managed service. This senior role oversees service governance, ensures high-quality delivery, and acts as the primary point of engagement for clients. You will provide expert licensing guidance, lead ELP assessments, and assure compliance across complex technology estates. Operating as a trusted advisor, you will drive continuous improvement, manage risk, and support organisations in regulated or high assurance environments with clear, authoritative SAM and licensing expertise.

Primary Accountability:

  • Overall service ownership
  • Governance and service assurance
  • Client engagement and relationship management
  • ELP assurance leadership
  • Senior licensing and compliance advisory

Required Skillset:

  • Senior Software Asset Management delivery experience
  • Ability to run a SAM managed service and own service governance
  • ELP assessment leadership
  • Licence compliance and risk management
  • SAM process design and continuous improvement
  • Stakeholder management across IT, procurement, finance, commercial and security
  • Ability to quality assure reports, audit responses and optimisation recommendations
  • Experience in regulated, public sector or critical national infrastructure environments (advantageous)

Useful Certifications:

  • IAITAM CSAM, CITAM or equivalent
  • ITIL 4 Foundation or Managing Professional
  • Flexera awareness
  • Microsoft or Oracle licensing experience desirable
