Job Description
This role is part of MED PLANET, a Lyon based fieldwork agency and a wholly owned subsidiary of M3 Inc. MED PLANET is a leading provider of data-collection services for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. We specialize in conducting both qualitative and quantitative market research in France.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Bilingual revision and quality checking of English, medical market-research materials translated into Chinese by freelance partners
- Translation and post-edition of medical market-research materials from English to Chinese, and translation of answers to open-ended questions from Chinese into English (to a lesser extent)
- Updating of materials previously translated in Chinese to match the latest English versions
- Search for and approval of new CN vendors in collaboration with the in-house vendor manager
- Learning the Med Planet translation and quality processes and suggesting tweaks for CN as relevant
- Maintaining of the related translation memories
Qualifications
Education and Training Required:
- Master’s Degree in English-Chinese translation
- Additional training in medical translation appreciated
Minimum Experience:
- At least 2 years’ experience in medical market research translation from English to Chinese
Knowledge, Skill, Ability:
- Medical market research terminology
- Native level Chinese speaker
- Knowledge of Chinese culture and intricacies
- Very good knowledge of Trados Studio or another well-known CAT tool (e.g. MemoQ)
- Medical market research translation from English to Chinese
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
