A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Invoice Finance professional to join the newly formed UK team of a global Invoice Finance & Payroll Solutions provider.

As a Client Manager, you will be the key liaison between the company and new clients as we onboard them, ensuring exceptional service whilst safeguarding the company’s financial interests. This dynamic role requires strong relationship-building skills, a proactive approach to client management, and a keen eye for risk and compliance.

Your responsibilities will span from onboarding new clients to managing ongoing client relationships, invoice funding, and debt collection, all while focusing on maximizing client retention and company revenue. This is a unique experience to join a new UK business backed by a large Australian entity, as the first operations hire you have the chance to set the culture as the business grows and a team is built.

Key responsibilities

  • Client Service and Retention: Provide outstanding customer service to ensure minimal client attrition, resolving any issues quickly and effectively.
  • Face to Face meeting: Attend regular client meetings, building relationships and ensuring clients feel supported throughout their journey.
  • Invoice Funding and Risk Management: Oversee invoice funding and manage risk, ensuring the company does not lose money and maximizing the funding potential of each client.
  • Onboarding & Facility Management: Seamlessly onboard new clients, managing their facility variations as needed. Ensure smooth transitions and a high level of services throughout the client lifecycle.
  • Debt Collection Oversight: Oversee the collection of clients' debts, working with debtors and payroll providers to ensure timely payments.
  • Upselling and Value Addition: Identify opportunities to upsell additional services, such as Bad Debt Protection, to maximise revenue from your portfolio.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with client reporting, post settlement obligations, and AML regulations.

Key Relationships

  • External: Build and maintain relationships with clients (from Directors to accounts receivable staff), debtors, payroll providers, and other external professionals such as credit insurers and legal advisors.
  • Internal: Work closely with the Credit and Payroll departments to deliver a seamless service. Working closely with the UK Country Manager to assist with new client processes whilst the business builds. Over time the opportunity will arise to recruit, lead and mentor junior staff on client-related tasks and issues.

Role Requirements

  • Experience: 4-7 years in Invoice Finance, with at least 1 year in a Client Relationship Management role.
  • Education: A Business-related degree is preferred but not essential.
  • Skills and knowledge: Strong negotiation, communication, and attention to detail skills. Knowledge of Factoring / Invoice Discounting, company structures, and basic mathematics. Ability to manage credit decisions and work with diverse client types. Familiarity with accounting and banking and recruitment sector (preferred but not essential).
  • Other: No criminal record and ability to work long term in the UK.
