Job DescriptionA unique opportunity has arisen for a Head of Legal to join a well-established and market leading Asset Based Lending provider based from their Sussex head office. Providing timely and commercial legal advice and transactional support in relation to The Company's products and services, whether via documentation or other means, for both new and existing business;Drafting and preparing in-house finance documents, amendments, waivers, reservation of rights letters, and reviewing legal documentation (including confidentiality and other commercial agreements);Ownership of The Company's legal documentation suite;Play an active role in the senior management team;Undertake legal reviews across the portfolio, to identify potential risks and inconsistencies;Opining on legal issues within credit proposal and proposed term sheet for both new and existing clients;Managing relationships with legal panel firms;conducting legal research; ensuring compliance with laws and regulations; maintaining precedent legal documentation; understanding the regulatory and legal climate and understanding of risk paradigm; being able to keep abreast of changes in law and regulation;identifying, managing and mitigating legal risk issues;Qualifications: Strong legal experience in a either a regional or City law firm; or in-house experience in an Asset Based Lending focused business or similar financial institution. Law degree (or equivalent qualification).Ability to lead a team, and support the development of junior colleagues;Strong and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts and conclusions into intelligible commercial advice;Good all-round financial services knowledge;Reasonable IT knowledge – proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;Particular knowledge in using Excel for data analysis and comparisons will be advantageous;The successful candidate will be rewarded with an exceptional basic salary and benefits package.
