M-XR is a deep tech startup with a mission to make the 3D digital world look real; whether that be the graphics in a computer game, the CGI in a movie, or a product line photoshoot. Description of role
As a Cloud Engineer at M-XR you will have the opportunity to work on designing and developing state of the art and highly performant software in the world of 3D. Working closely with the CTO, software lead and the rest of the software team you will collaborate together to develop and improve the tech stack. The solution and ideas you build and implement will be fuelled by your experience, ideas and problem solving abilities. If you are a self starter, comfortable with responsibility, a team player and able to excel under pressure then you are likely a great fit.
Description of work to be performed
As a Cloud Engineer you will be expected to engage with large technical challenges, understand and comprehend the current tech stack, plan and create improvements to further increase the reliability, the scalability and the performance of the software.
Your core daily tasks will consist of working on improvements to the main software modules, which currently are a mixture of Python and C++. This includes processing systems, database interfacing, backend for customer facing products and integration of research and prototype work.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining M-XR’s cloud infrastructure
- Work on deploying M-XR software to cloud infrastructures
- Work in tandem with the engineering team throughout the software development lifecycle
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, produce detailed documentation
- Contributing to team brainstorming sessions
- Contributing to debugging and problem solving
- Collaborating with the Software Lead and the wider team on a variety of problems
Requirements
- 4+ Years Experience with Cloud technologies from a major cloud provider (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) (Certificate)
- Extensive experience with Python or other scripting language
- Experience containers and management (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with API, REST and web services
- Experience with Cloud technologies from a major cloud provider (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Extensive experience with version control (Git, etc.)
- Experience of working on a production software (commercial or open source)
- Some experience with C++ & Cmake
