About you

You’re a proper field salesperson who likes having ownership of your own patch. You enjoy getting out in front of customers, opening new doors and turning good relationships into more business. You don’t need somebody constantly checking your diary or telling you who to call next — you’re comfortable taking responsibility for your own numbers and getting on with it. You’re probably at a stage in your career where you’ve built a solid track record, progressed well and now want a role with plenty of autonomy and a genuinely good territory to get after.

Your experience

If you already sell into the print, signage, display or graphics market, we definitely want to speak to you. You might currently be selling substrates, vinyl, print media, plastics, hardware or another product into sign makers and printers. That knowledge would give you a serious head start. It isn’t essential though. A strong background in external sales within distribution, building products, flooring, industrial supplies or another product-led B2B market could transfer really well. What matters more is that you can show you’ve developed new business, grown existing accounts and built good customer relationships over time.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership of customers across London and the South, with a healthy mix of new business and account development. There are existing relationships to grow, dormant customers to get back in front of and plenty of scope to bring new accounts into the business. You’ll be getting out to see people, understanding what they buy, spotting where there’s more opportunity and following things through properly. You’ll also work closely with the internal sales and branch teams, keep on top of quotes and opportunities and feed back what you’re seeing in the market. This isn’t a role where you’ll be expected to sit in an office for the sake of it. There’s plenty of flexibility, with time in Sidcup when it’s useful rather than a rigid weekly pattern.

About the business

You’ll be joining an established UK distributor supplying materials and equipment into the print, signage and display industries. It’s a growth hire rather than somebody being replaced, and the wider business is continuing to invest in its product range, delivery capability and external sales team. There’s a good level of backing behind you, but still enough freedom for you to take ownership of your territory and make it your own. Alongside the £45,000–£60,000 base salary there’s flexibility for the right person, plus a car allowance or travel allowance depending on how you work.

Next steps

If you’re already selling into sign or print, I definitely want to hear from you. Equally, if you’ve built a strong external sales career in distribution or another B2B market and think you could get your head around the products quickly, don’t rule yourself out. Happy to have an initial chat and give you the full picture.
