About you
You’ve spent years around powder coating, wet spray and prep, and it shows. You know what a good finish looks like before it’s even cured. You enjoy being hands on, but you’re just as comfortable stepping back and leading a team when needed. People listen to you because you know your trade, not because of a job title. You like things organised, calm and running properly. You care about standards, but you’re practical about how work actually gets done on a busy shop floor.
Your experience
You’ve built solid experience in industrial painting, powder coating or a similar finishing environment. At some point, you naturally moved into leading others, setting the pace, answering questions and being the one people turn to when something isn’t quite right. You understand preparation, coatings, curing and quality checks. You’re confident maintaining and fault-finding equipment, reading drawings, and making sensible decisions when materials or finishes don’t behave as expected. Health and safety is second nature to you, not an afterthought.
What you’ll be doing with your experience in this role
You’ll be taking ownership of the finishing department, overseeing preparation, powder coating and wet spray work day to day. You’ll plan workloads, guide the team, and keep everything moving without rushing the job or lowering standards. You’ll keep a close eye on quality, stepping in early when something needs adjusting. You’ll look after equipment, materials and the general flow of work, making sure the department runs smoothly and stays well organised. You’ll work closely with other teams to flag issues, share progress and make sure finishes meet the brief. You’ll also set the tone for health and safety in the area. Clean, safe and well-run matters to you, and you’ll pass that mindset on to the people around you through example, not lectures.
About the business
This is an established sign manufacturing environment with a strong focus on quality finishes and reliable delivery. The work is varied and technical, with plenty of different materials and challenges to keep things interesting. It’s a practical, experienced team where knowledge is respected and good work is noticed.
